  2022 BIG TEN EDDLEMAN-FIELDS PUNTER OF THE YEAR: Bryce Baringer, Michigan State,...Michigan State graduate senior Bryce Baringer has been named the Eddleman-Fields Big Ten Punter of the Year, the conference office announced on Tuesday afternoon as the All-Big Ten defensive and special teams awards were released on the Big Ten Network. Named for Illinois' Dike Eddleman and MSU's Brandon Fields, Baringer is the first Spartan to win the award since its inception in 2011. Baringer was also named first-team All-Big Ten by the coaches to become the first Spartan punter to earn first-team all-league honors since the late Mike Sadler (2012 and 2013). Baringer leads the FBS in punting with a 49.0-yard average, which is also currently an MSU single-season record and the second-best average in Big Ten history.   Jayden Reed could have come back to Michigan State for one more season, but on Sunday the senior wide receiver made it official by announcing he was declaring for the NFL Draft. "Thank you Spartan Nation for the countless memories here at Michigan State," Reed posted on social media. "I will forever bleed green!" The move by Reed was merely a formality, as he had already accepted an invitation to the Senior Bowl. Reed just capped the 2022 season with 55 receptions for 636 yards and five touchdowns. In four seasons, Reed had 203 catches for 2,866 yards and 26 touchdowns. He also had one career rushing touchdown and three punt returns for touchdowns. - Detroit News

  NOV 14 MISSOURI VALLEY CO-OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: QB Tommy Schuster, North Dakota, 6-0, 200, Jr., Macomb, Mich. (Chippewa Valley),...In the 28-19 win over South Dakota, Schuster went 24-for-28 passing for 223 yards and three touchdowns. He surrendered one interception before halftime but was not sacked in the game. It was his eighth game this season with at least 20 completions. This season alone, Schuster has a completion percentage of 71.6. His career completions percentage is 67.1 percent, up from 64.8 percent at the beginning of the season. Already this season, Schuster has cemented his place in UND history as the all-time record holder at UND for passing yards in a career (6,487), all-time career completions (601) and UND Division I touchdown passes thrown (40).   Tommy Schuster threw three straight touchdown passes to propel North Dakota to a 28-19 win over South Dakota in a Missouri Valley Conference battle Saturday. Shuster hit Bo Belquist from two-yards out with 10 seconds left in the first half to give the Fighting Hawks the lead, 14-13, at intermission. Shuster then went back to Belquist for a 3-yard touchdown and found Isaiah Smith on an 11-yard strike to take a 28-13 lead after three quarters. Aidan Bouman, who threw two first-half touchdown passes to stake the Coyotes to a 13-7 advantage, added a third touchdown pass in the fourth quarter.

South Dakota converted just one of its three PAT attempts. Eddie Ogamba missed on the Coyotes first touchdown and had his kick blocked in the fourth quarter. Shuster completed 24 of 28 passes for 243 yards and three touchdowns with an interception to lead North Dakota (7-3, 5-2). Bouman was 15 of 27 for 151 yards passing and three touchdowns for South Dakota (3-7, 2-5). North Dakota closes out the regular season at North Dakota State next Saturday.   NOV 7 MISSOURI VALLEY PLAYER OF THE WEEK NOMINEE: QB Tommy Schuster, North Dakota - In the 42-7 win at Indiana State, Tommy Schuster not only broke two school records with his arm, but also finished 16-of-19 passing in a game where wind gusted over 25-MPH consistently. Schuster paced the offense through the air, throwing for 162 yards and two touchdowns on 16-of-19 passing. The two touchdowns thrown gave Schuster the UND Division I record for touchdown passes (37), while the 162 yards passing gives him 6,259 yards through the air to make him the all-time career passing yardage leader at UND. Schuster passed Todd Kovash (1987-90) for the all-time passing yards record. Kovash threw for 6,234 yards in his career. Schuster broke the Division I touchdown record on a 16-yard pass to Isaiah Smith in the third quarter, using his legs to elude the defense and extend the play on fourth and four before finding Smith in the end zone. The previous UND Division I touchdown record was held by Keaton Studsrud (2014-17), who threw for 36 TD's in his career. - Missouri Valley Football
